Flat for a Single Woman

Tai Hang Road, Hong Kong
2000
55s.m.

This early small flat fit-out addressed 2 issues common in the flats of the period: How to rectangularised a trangular living room and how to open up a bathroom with a tiny wind facing onto unpleasant light-well.

In the first issue, a wide sliding door which enclosed the dining table/ open kitchen or the foyer fenced off the living area and improved the cozyness.

The bookshelf in front of the bathroom frosted glass wall allowed the much need light into the bathroom and turned this otherwise blank wall into the highlight of the room, and at the same time eliminated the thickness of a masonry wall.
