The House Between 2 Bays

Island South, Hong Kong
2015~2017
490s.m. + 250s.m. garden
A&A works, interiors and landscaping

Significant structural changes including relocation of internal staircase and additional of a lift were carried out to this 3-storey townhouse built on a slope to achieve a layout with large connected living area together with a contemporary sized semi-open kitchen.

The original sectional layout of house entrance with living area on the top floor, bedrooms on the lower ground floor, and special function rooms on the 2nd lower ground floor were kept. This allowed the original pitch roof structure together with the distinctive interior spacial quality to be expressed in full in the living area.

The 2nd lower ground floor provides ideal locations for a professionally equipped wine cellar, a hifi room with full acoustic treatment and a gym which opened onto a terrace. Overall, it was an ideal home for the semi-retired couple owner.
